Therapy

Where I work

I work in consulting rooms in County Durham and the rest of the North East. I also work remotely, thereby covering the whole of the UK and beyond.

Before we start therapy: the initial consultation

The first stage is always an initial consultation, where we can get to know each other and together decide if I am the right person to help you. Sometimes I will advise people to consult their GP before we go ahead with any therapy work. This is especially important for such goals as giving up drugs or alcohol. In other cases, I can point people to other services that could be useful alongside of or instead of my therapies. If, for any reason, you change your mind during the initial consultation, there is no obligation to go ahead with any therapy.

Once we decide to go ahead with the therapy, I offer a range of tools/techniques, which lets us come up with a highly personalised self-improvement plan. We’re all different, and it’s good to be able to adapt the therapy to suit a person’s unique needs.

Accessing the therapy

Face-to-face Therapy

I offer face-to-face therapy in Shildon, County Durham. The location is easy to get to from the nearby railway station and bus routes, and there is plenty of parking outside the building.

Online Therapy

Attending therapy sessions can sometimes be a challenge, and some people find travelling to therapy difficult. Additionally, in the post-pandemic situation, many of us are used to working and speaking remotely. I therefore offer online therapy services using video conferencing.

Telephone Therapy

Not everybody has a good, reliable internet connection. Some people prefer the telephone to a video call. This means you can participate in ‘remote’ therapy using a method best suited to you, and telephone sessions give you more choice over where you can access therapy, as you do not need to be in range of a Wi-Fi signal.
